white is the absence of all color.
VINTAGE white sequined denim jacket | LEVI denim shorts
A quick last ode to summer in all white.. it’s 85 degrees out today, but I can feel this is a total fluke and in a day or two it’ll plummet back down to the 50s and 60s. But for now, a light zippered denim jacket.. perfect transition piece, and I adore the sequined scoop collar on this one. I’m about to throw on my sunnies and take a wander at the thrift store to see what goodies I can dig up. Enjoy the sun, guys!
I had the pleasure of attending Fashion & Beauty Week at the impossibly beautiful Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange, NJ yesterday evening. A two-day event that combines the facets of fashion design as well as hair, makeup and beauty on the runway while having proceeds benefit towards the Diabetes Research Institute, it is truly an exciting new venture that brings together the worlds of fashion, entertainment, and awareness. This groundbreaking event was launched by the CEO of Panico Salon and Spas, Jack Panico, when he serendipitously met Lindsey Inserra, a longtime sufferer of diabetes. Together, they envisioned an exciting, fresh, and successful way to promote attention to this debilitating disease and to call aid to its cause. Fashion & Beauty Week was born.FRENCH CONNECTION beaded open back dress | H&M jacket | ADRIENNE VITTADINI asymmetric pumps
I’m splitting this event up into two separate posts.. because otherwise you all would just be way too inundated with photos. Sometime tomorrow I’ll put up runway photos and some designer favorites. For now, just a little photodiary of the backstage and behind-the-scenes fun. A lot of my readers are curious as to what we bloggers do at the events we attend.. and well, in all honesty, we goof off, pig out, drink booze, and block pathways while being narcissistic little camera whores. Haha, and of course in between all the silliness, we talk to designers, makeup artists, stylists, PR interns, and whoever else is involved in pulling off such a huge event. It was an amazing night that began and ended with us being whisked to and fro in a navy blue stretch limo; in between, delicious food, endless drinks, free gelato, and incredible friends: I say Fashion & Beauty Week was a tremendous success.
